Description
SOLIDIFICATION AND STABILISATION OF WASTE
The ECOMIX plant for the treatment of soil and sludge is a machine specially designed for the inertisation of waste, a process that aims to incorporate pollutants into an inert matrix by means of chemical and/or physical processes (encapsulation, polymerization, adsorption, desorption) in order to reduce their polluting potential and therefore their dangerousness, transform them into stable solid compounds that are easy to handle (solidification), inhibit the release of contaminants by blocking them in insoluble compounds (stabilization) and thus make them suitable for recovery or disposal in lower category landfills, as non-hazardous waste, at lower costs. The plant, which allows the handling of materials with an intrinsic humidity of up to 70%, is suitable for the treatment of all palatable materials, both wet and dry, and can be adapted to the production process required and the specific needs of the user.
A HIGH-PERFORMANCE INERTISATION PROCESS
The ECOMIX inertisation plant consists of one or more hoppers for waste loading, one or more silos for storing the powdered materials (binders and/or reagents), and a continuous cycle mixing unit (for high hourly production rates) or a forced regime (for high quality final products). It represents an innovative solution for all those who need to treat particularly wet, compacted materials such as contaminated aggregates, polluted soil, but also sludge, clay and similar materials, which until now were considered impossible to store, handle and mix. The structure of the loading tanks has been specially designed to prevent the formation of blocks and/or bridges and thus allow the correct descent of the materials. The innovative extraction system (patented), positioned at the bottom of each hopper, guarantees the extraction of any type of muddy/clayey and packing waste, while the management of additional powders is carried out using special dozers positioned above the mixer and fed by vertical or horizontal silos.
WASTE INERTISATION: SOIL, SLUDGE AND POWDER
Solid pasty wastes, sludges and slime, semi-solid wastes of inorganic nature from different industrial sectors: metalworking (sludges from acid bath neutralization operations, treatment of alkaline or phosphate baths, clarification of washing waters, abatement in paint booths), metal surface treatment (sludges from treatment of washing waters from chromium, nickel and copper plating), chemical treatments (solid residues from nitriding and cementing baths), metallurgical industries (smelting slag, dust from fume removal) thermoelectric power stations and waste-to-energy plants (combustion ash, slag from flue gas treatment), ceramics industry (sludges from sedimentation and water clarification, flue gas dust), photographic industry (developing and printing baths), textile and dyeing industries (residues from primary sedimentation, sludges from sewage treatment plants), acetylene production (lime hydroxide sludge), mining industry (slag and flotation sludge), land reclamation, sludge dredging.
